Impressions from Lisbon -6-

TexAwake

The evening of Friday 08/ 03:

Opening of the Textile Exhibition 'TexAwake' – by students of the Tapestry Course from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Lisbon.

The exhibition was situated in the crypt of the Faculty, a former Franciscan convent. A beautiful and mysterious place, wherein the architecture added much to the wonderful ambience of this presentation. Eight students presented their work: monumental tapestries, some classic, some experimental in concept and/ or materials, some luminous in colour and material, some sober and dark. The students did a great job. The culture of Tapestry in Portugal seems to be very alive and of high standard.
